The moon has lost her earring
And can’t find it anywhere,
The night is very dark now
She knows she will need some help.
¡Oh! How sad I can see the moon now,
because she isn’t going to shine,
she has lost her diamond earring
now she’ll never be so bright.
She goes to her friend the sun,
Seeking for light and help.
The sun says: “It’s pretty early, my darling
You really will have to wait”.
The moon is very sad now
And starts crying with a frown.
One-tear drops down, then another,
This rain will not stop right now.
One-tear drops down, then another,
This rain will not stop right now,
It won’t stop at least for now.
Every drop builds up a cascade
That the earring finds on its way,
And it reaches with such strength
That it crashes right into earth;
Breaking in a thousand pieces
That fly and fly away
And end up right on the sky.
It is said, that every broken piece is a star now
That keeps the moon feeling bright and happy,
And the night is not so dark anymore,
And her earring she won’t miss again,
And forever she will shine.
And forever she will shine.

THE MOON LOST HER EARRING
The moon has lost her earring
And can’t find it anywhere.
The night is very dark now.
She knows she will need some help.
Oh! How sad the moon appears
She knows she will have no shine.
She has lost her diamond earring.
Now she’ll never be as bright.
She goes to her friend, the sun
Seeking for light and help.
The sun says
“It’s pretty early, my darling.
You really have to wait”.
The moon is very sad now.
She starts crying with a frown.
One-tear drops, then another.
The rain will not stop right now.
One-tear drops, then another.
A river is sweeping now.
It’s pouring down from the sky.
The river came strongly flowing.
And caught the earring as it fell.
Smashing it into pieces
With all its strength and might.
It broke to million pieces
That flew up to the sky.
That flew up to the sky.
They say that every broken piece is a star now
That lights up the sky for the moon.
So she never misses her diamond,
And she shines as if she had it too.
Stars forever make her shine.
She will always shine as bright.
